How can I shrink my rubber bracelet?

I have one of those rubber Livestrong-type bracelets, except mine is in support of AIDS Research. The bracelet is a bit big for me, and I'm worried it might fall of my wrist. I really want to wear it; is there any way I can shrink it a little so it will fit me without falling off?

Heating it up may shrink it, but you also risk deforming it. Maybe you can cut through it, cut a little bit away and then get some sort of a closing mechanism on each side, like a hook or a clasp.

um maybe you could put it in a pot of boiling water?
