I have a tafe assessment that says to research three thinking strategies?

It asks me to use three separate mind mapys - one for each strategy to summarise research findings. I have researched but really don't understand what a thinking stratagy is. Im a teachers aid student so we are talking about ways to help students in literacy at the moment where this assessment has come up but I have no background info from our course about this and just don't get what I am reading on the net! I would appreciate advice from primary school teachers on this subject of teaching strategies.

Are you referring to thinking strategies (in your questions title) or teaching strategies (in your last sentence)?

Some thinking strategies include the 6 thinking hats, Mind mapping, brain storming, force fields, link analysis etc etc.
