Gay prevent AIDs facts?

Dear life savers!

I am doing a research paper on gay marriage rights. One of the argument I have is that gay marriage can actually prevent the spread of AIDs to others since they will be commited to one partner and one partner only.
Is there any facts, such as statistic facts, or websites that I can go to to support my statements?

I'd stop right there, that statement is completely wrong, and it is no correalation between the two things.

The only thing I can think of is common sense really. Being depressed and feeling like your relationships don't count can cause you to be more promiscous too - kind of like "I'll just give up on commitment if it won't ever be recognized" you know? But don't forget that marriage doesn't really mean you will be committed to one partner and one partner only with a divorce rate of 50% and 25% of married men reporting they have engaged in infidelity.

And according to my sociology book the rate of AIDS in American gay men has dropped significantly while it continues to rise in drug users.

PS: I know a lot of the answers are coming down hard on you but I think I get what you're trying to say, it just came out wrong.

Homosexuals are very similar to Heterosexuals, in that very few are monogomistic.

one of the reasons the divorce rate is so high is because of partners having affairs.so i dont see that working.a piece of paper is not going to stop cheaters from playing around.

A marriage certificate won't make a difference. Gay people throughout history have lived together monogamously with the same partner. My aunt and her lover spent their entire lives together until my aunt died.

The majority of gay people are in a long term relationship allready and they should have the equal right to Marry. Aids and Gay marriage are like comparing apples to oranges.

Viruses don't get married, nor do they commit to one individual or even one "lifestyle", why do you presume only gay people can get AIDS?

AIDS is not a gay disease... it effects everyone... where I can agree with you is that people in monogamous HAPPY marriages tend to be less promiscuous...thereby helping those people not to be at risk for any std.... Society is fully responsible for creating the gay "down low" scene ( married with kids guys who hook up with other guys on the "down low" ) by making men feel miserable about who they are from birth... and it will be a much better world when society doesn't assume everyone to be heterosexual until some sort of mid-life declaration is made....
