What is the most important thing people need to know about AIDS?

I am doing my senior project on phlebotomy, and my research paper has to corelate to the project. So i chooose aids, however, i cannot think of the one thing to base my paper on. HELP! what do u think?

I need something to base my paper on

I personally feel that a good thing is that AIDS has not been cured with a pill. AIDS is on the rise again due to people not seeing the death rate as before. The medicine is making people live longer, but at what cost? Plus the virus continues to mutate and get stronger.

I have a friend who ended up contracting the HIV virus about a year ago. He started out saying, "No big deal. I will just take the pills." Now he lives a life of being constantly ill from the medicines and with Diahreah. (m.s.?)

I highly recommend that you go to your local County Infectious Disease Clinic and pick up some literature. It gives statistics in your county.

That there is no such thing as safe sex.

That this one is a serious problem if u got it so they recommend to use protection:->

If we are thinking for Illeterate people than they must know how AIDS spreads. Because there are lots of confussions in illeterate people about this. Than they must know how they can prevent that. Because Prevention is Better than Cure. And theird thing that they should know how they can stop spreading AIDS Viruses.

This is just the basic information that every one shold know.

The most important thing about AIDS is that there are but a few ways it can be transmitted, all of which involve bodily fluids.

all the ways people can get it

the ways they cant or the ways they think they can get it but cant

COMPLICATIONS

The immune system has had a very long time to adapt. This thing attacks it with hunger. The human immune is no match. It is a virus that has changed our planets history and ways.So small that only antibodies are detected in most cases. We must hope it does not morph, however I doubt it will. The answer,I do not know.

Remember, when you have unprotected sex with someone you are having sex with everyone they ever had sex with. i.e. Knowing your partner is not enough! I worked in Blood Banking as a Community Representative for 17 years. I suggest you should contact the Medical Director or Donor Collections Director of your community blood center. Explain your project and I am positive they will welcome and help you. If you are in their areas, seek out a United Blood Services center (that is who I worked for). If on the east coast, seek out Pittsburgh Blood Services. Good luck in your project. Sheri in Oswego, IL

The most important thing is even though people are "living" with AIDS there is no cure. It is like a permanent tattoo.

The most important thing to know is how to prevent it. I think that many people think that they are invincible. If you're speaking scientifically, I think that the most important thing to know is what it does to the body. It is not AIDS that eventually kills, it is an illness that cannot be cured because of a weakened immune system.

That it can kill you.
