Of all the diseases, which one should get the most money for research?

Tons of money goes to AIDS, yet fewer people die of AIDS that other diseases that get less funding for research. Where do you think the research money should go?

It isn't an easy question. You have to weigh the number of people affected by a disease, the number of people potentially affected by a disease, the relative risks of each disease, the potential for curing or mitigating the disease...

Plus, keep in mind that some disease-funding comes from private donors through charitable contributions -- if people want their money to go to "X" prevention, even though "Y" hurts more people, that's their call to make.
