2 Million People Die From AIDS & Malaria. Why Does AIDS Get All of the Money? |
Roughly 2 to 3 million people will die from AIDS this year. About the same number of people will die from malaria. Rich countries, like the US are not affected directly by Malaria, so they don't see the problem. Because there are many well-connected peter puffers, whereas one finds decidedly few pygmies in positions of authority. Because Malaria isn't transmittable by human contact. Also they have had medicine for Malaria for many years now.Other than 3rd world countries no one dies from Malaria. Although rates of malaria are high, they are not increasing exponentially over time. Hopefully the AIDS pandemic can also be controlled through accurate information about safer sex, and maybe a vaccine. But so far, in places like India and China where the epidemic is just getting going, there is a lot to worry about. |
