Are chimps dying from AIDS?

If research has recently proved AIDS made the jump from chimp to man, then why aren't we hearing about millions of chimps dying every year from AIDS? Maybe scientists are already working with chimps on this one but it just seems odd that if we got it from chimps and they're not dying from it, that we should invest more resources to find out why.

Seriously, though, the HIV virus mutated from a version found in chimps. Technically, no chimpanzee has HIV or AIDS. That's why it's HIV: HUMAN Immunodeficiency virus.

They have a natural immunity to it according to a NG? show about Chimps. Lions also have a version that they are naturally immune to.
