Conflicted World ?

I am going to make a research paper on a specific conflict occurring in the world, though it doesn't have to be specifically war. Although I could write about any sort of conflict, it should center specifically around Africa. Now i know Africa is ravaged by civil warfare and genocide, alongside with the AIDS epidemic. Aside from the conflict in Darfur, can some of you guys name a few other conflicts that aren't broad-casted by mainstream media? Other international suggestions are just as welcome. Thanks.

hello. I'll suggest Nelson and Winnie Mandela, of South Africa. How he (a black man) became leader of the former Aparthied nation. It was 'grudingly' reported on in that era, the American Walter Cronkite era. (and that's the way it is, folks). good luck
