"BABY ON BOARD": Why do people have these signs on their cars?

what the hell is wrong with these people? why do they hang these stupid yellow, diamond-backed signs on their tinted windows like its an ornament? is this some joke or a way for them to make up an excuse for their lousy driving? my neighbors (a real obnoxious white couple) each hang one on BOTH of their cars (honda cr-v, subaru forester), but the thing is, THEY DONT HAVE A BABY NOR CHILD!! THEN WHY??!! on top of that, they wont even bother taking off those even more obnoxious little ribbon-shaped bumper stickers off of their tailgate doors, which theyve had on their cars for too long. they brag about how they are proud to support their troops, breast cancer research, aids awareness, and to be an american. okay, thats great and all, but why the hell do they have to tell that to the driver behind them who could care less? i should put a new sticker on each of their suvs myself (since they like it so much), ones that say "my spouse and i both drive gas guzzlers."

Heres a better question, why are you so bitter?

Make a ribbon sticker that says people with those kinds of stickers suck

So people around them will keep in mind to be more careful with their driving...

Maybe they hope some stupid drunk will notice and try hard not to hit them like the one that hit me and my sis head on. We are lucky to be alive.
Don't let the small things unnerve you. There are a lot more important things to worry about. Some of these things may have impacted them or a loved one. Be more compassionate. Heaven knows I am far from perfect and would probably give you something different to worry about. I hope not. I am learning to live and let live now at sixty three.

Well, I guess people expect you t be sensitive to them, saying that they have a little baby in the back seat. It's like putting a sign on your car that says, "Hey, don't honk at me, flick me off, and or cuss me out, because I have my baby in the back. You wouldn't want to hurt the baby would you?" but in simpler, more discreet words. I guess to someone a little bitter would ridicule that but it really dosn't affect you so, I wouldn't really worry about it. Let them be obnoxious with there children if they want.

Are we a little hyper this evening? MAIN reason for the original 'Baby on Board' signs were to let emergency people KNOW there were children in the vehicle in case of an accident or fire. Now, yes, I think they're a bit obnoxious, but to each his own. As for the 'ribbon-shaped' ones..they are showing their support for causes they believe in. Why get upset? Look elsewhere if they annoy you so badly. We'll take up a fund and get you a 'Do I look like I care?' bumper sticker. lol
Chill....there are MUCH worse issues you should worry about.
