Anyone suffer from a cookie bite hearing loss?

I have had a cookie bite hearing loss in both ears since birth. My mother was told I may be totally deaf by the time I turned 30. I am now 24 and my hearing has definitely deteriorated and I have had to 'upgrade' to more expensive hearing aids! My right ear is worse than my left. My question is what do you think the chances of me becoming completely deaf are? I have done so much research on this but haven't been successful in finding an answer.
Thank you.

First of all, I am sorry for having to deal with hearing loss at such a young age. It sucks.

Basically nobody can tell the future as far as what your hearing will be like in the years down the line. Do you have a specific diagnosis for a condition that causes hearing loss? Usually you can do research on the particular condition and find statistics to give you a better answer than I can without knowing more about your history.

On a positive side- you're lucky that you have such awesome hearing aid technology available to you now compared to even just five years ago. More and more complicated hearing losses can be successfully fit, even the tricky cookie-bite losses. Keep going back to your audiologist and have your hearing screened regularly and get your aids adjusted accordingly. Worst case scenario, if your hearing gets to the point where you're in the profound range, you would probably be a candidate for a cochlear implant and be very successful with it.

I know I gave you a lot of info that you didn't ask for but long story short, unless you know of a specific condition you have nobody can tell the future. Good luck, I wish you well.
