Cronic ear inections....Can't find a doctor ?

Here's the thing...I have cronic ear infections...Every time I even get the sniffles, I have ear infections for month...It's embarrasing...I can't hear very well anymore and I keep having to have people repeat themselves...

I live in a town where it's impossible to see a doctor unless you're already a patient...This is rediculous....
I've done a lot of research and I'm convinced that I need surgery on my ear drums to correct the problem...
Here's my problem...You can't get in to see an ear nose and throat doc without a referral from a regular doc...NONE of thedocs here accept new patients...I've been going through this for months..............
Any suggestions here ? My hearing has really gone down hill...I'm seriously afraid that I'll end up needing a hearing aid because of this beauracracy....

Well so you say that the docs that are locally won't see if if your a "New Patient" have you attempted to go to the local ER and letting them check and then seeing if the on call doctor that see's you there would be able to possibly help you out? I Dunno what other ideas you can do..
But my doctor that I don't like if he's not in the office the time I need to see him, I go to the ER and even though cause of all of the privacy laws nowadays they can't tell you who's on call until you go there.. It sucks! Best of luck!

Sorry to hear that you cannot find a doctor to treat you.
You may find that if you wear ear phones to listen to music you are re infecting the ear canal, also if you swim a lot this can infect the ear.
I do not feel that an operation on the ear drum would be carried out, as this is only done in the case of the ear drum being damaged.
Go to citizens advice if you live in the UK and explain to them, I am sure they can help you get medical help.
