Cost for a Canadian to study in California?

Hello! So i decided a little while ago that I would like to do my post secondary education in California!!! I have a friend who lives there who I can stay with, so housing costs will not be a problem, and I'm just trying to figure out how much it will be altogether.. I'm taking a year off to work and save up.

This is the math I have done so far.

Cal Poly
Estimated Costs- http://www.calstate.edu/ip/prospective-s...

Cuesta CC
International Info- http://academic.cuesta.edu/admrreg/intri...
Financial Certificate- http://academic.cuesta.cc.ca.us/admrreg/...

Subtract housing costs (approx.8-9k)

Assuming I spend more than others, i need around 15k a year (subtracting housing costs completely would be around 10k).. which = 60,000$ altogether for school in Cali

Jobs:Assuming I get a job starting June FULLTIME (min.wage 8.75$/h, 40hr week)
=18,000$

PLUS a part time job (Lets say 20 hours a week, added onto 40, probably on weekends and night shifts)
=9,000$

18000+9000=27000
lets say i save 22000 (that's at the VERY WORST... I proobably won't be spending more than 5k)

60,000-22,000
=38,000

38,000/4
=9,500 If you divide all that up, basically it is 9,500$ per year.

I could probably get some financial aid as well.

Am I missing something huge? Or is this a pretty good estimate on how much everything will cost?

Thankyou :) any other comments on california are appreciated. I haven't told my parents yet, but I just want to do the research beforehand so they know i'm serious about this.

No you are not missing anything
