Help! Which school should I choose? Ohio U. Vs. Southern Conn.?

I am 18 and have applied to four schools, I got into all but now it is down to two. Ohio University of Athens and Southern Connecticut State University. Ohio U is my number one choice, simply because I fell in love with the school and I got this "gut" feeling about going there. I also picked Southern because it gave the biggest financial aid package. I am having a super hard time picking. I don't want to burden my parents with the amount of money (which I have done all I can to help out, and in return, will also be paying for half my education), so I picked South Conn for that choice. It'll make my parents happy knowing that there is less money involved. But at the same time, I don't want to be unhappy where I go. My friends say my mom had her chance to go to college and she shouldn't be making the decision for me. I have done all the work, research and paperwork. I think I deserve to take advantage or whats in front of me. I couldn't be more excited for this new phase of my life. There is always the possibility of transferring. So, why do I feel so stuck? Please give me some advice and suggestions. I would really appreciate it!

Honestly, you should go to Ohio. I live in CT and went to school near Ohio U and I can tell you its one of the best party schools ever. It's not the greatest school academically except for their nursing program, but it's definitely superior to SCSU.

I have many friends who go to Southern and feel like it's an extension of high school. It's filled with kids from the same high schools who keep the same group of friends. The only upside is the location in New Haven, which is a college town and UNH, Yale, and Quinnipiac kids are always down there, but the club scene could grow old.

Although Southern may seem more financially sensible, go with your gut. You won't get a true college experience at Southern as it's primarily a commuter school. Go with Ohio, that's a real college.
