Is Christianity the most logical religion to follow, because there are the most followers?

and, as weak as the 'evidence' is, at least there is a "bible" that has survived so many years and is considered the most important book in the world?

(i am an agnostic - don't know wth to believe, btw)

But before discounting this question is completely absurd, which it probably is, but that is my fault for not having the vocabulary to explain it......

Do you think having a lot of followers increases, statistically the chance that a certain religion is the one, true one? After all, many gods claim to "pull" you to their faith.

So if most believers are Christian, then does that increase the odds that it may be the 'right' religion?

p.s. I've researched Christianity to the core and find the historical evidence troubling at best, if it exists at all....the bible is also very contradictory. (i live in the u.s., a very christian country, so i get the kool-aid every day)

p.s. by 'kool-aid', no offense to christians. i acknowledge that i may be wrong and maybe there is a Christian God

Even if the majority of people in this world were Buddists(for example),
I would still be a Christian. I don't base my beliefs on the "popularity" of the religion. Jesus would still be my savior even if I was the only Christian in the world.

Jesus saved me from a life of heartache and changed me for the better. I will follow Him forever.

First off, you should follow what you truly believe and what you FEEL takes you to the person you want to be, not by who's followed by more people. There's not a whole lot of logic in most religions anyway. Secondly, I think christianity is actually only the SECOND largest followed religion. I could be wrong on that point though.

Well the setup is illogical. It would mean that in the very beginning faith was the least logical due to the paucity of followers. But Jesus placed no emphasis on the numbers of followers. So, in sum, you are looking for reasons based on numbers to believe in Someone who disclaimed numbers in the Faith he recommended.

Though I don't want you damned, I don't want you as a "Christian" under your terms. You will bring mockery on the Faith in the eyes of educated and rational people.

No, you can't base your beliefs on who has the most followers. but i still believe that it is the one and only way. but also the real Christians who believe all, not some of what the bible says are the true Christians, not the people who go to church once a month and get ripped or wasted on Friday night.

That doesn't follow. Just because a lot of people hold a particular belief, that doesn't make their belief logical, or even true. And Christianity is certainly neither... And a lot of people can be wrong.

Just because it has the most followers doesn't make it logical.

A few hundred years ago, most people believed the earth was flat. Oh yeah, *so* logical.

Think about how many scientologists there are considering their beliefs.

No, Chinese religions.

ummm not really but kinda.

Christianity is dropping, and Islam is on the rise.

So, the majority of people in the south thought slavery was a good idea. Does that mean it's right?

if thats what it takes to turn you to christianity...then so be it.

Becoming a Christian has nothing to do with the number of followers, its all about the most convincing proof and evidence. the main evidence i got was not the Bible surprisingly, it was God. when i became a Christian i wasnt sure it was the right thing to do. but what happened below changed me and my faith.

I found God a year ago. I read the Bible, He was there. I prayed to Him, asking for forgivness, He forgave me. I asked Him to help me when i was going through tough times, He got me out of it. I asked for help, He gave me His hand. God's right next to you. Don't you see? He's reaching out His hand and pleading you to take it. why aren't you taking it, why are you waiting? we dont have a lot of time. we dont know when our last breath here on earth will be. God's ready anytime, it's us who has to make the final decision. i already made mine, its time for you to make yours.

Man's logic? Maybe not. The truth of God is not revealed through flesh and blood but through the spirit. I once called myself atheist and many spiritual truths I had no idea about.

Christianity teaches the truth is not according to numbers.

Those who love and seek the truth receive a gift from God called faith..it is through faith we accept the atonement of Jesus Christ and receive the Holy Spirit. It is then we begin to receive spiritual revelation from God and begin a personal relationship with him.
God is an eternal spirit and his truth is greater than a flesh and blood. We are finite creature and the greater truths of God are revealed through the spirit.

Edit no offense as an atheist I didn't get it either.

Our calendar does also hint to a post Christ Jesus era.
Logic is not always a point people see as a virtue.
Some prefer Jesus Christ and the bible and believe that God is more in line with the bible than any other faith.
God calls those to our faith .
He chooses us from out of the world.
He also appoints us as heirs of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Many have heard the gospel and believed becuase they understand what is hidden and so obvious to them.
The cross is where Jesus Came to die and rise from the dead .
This is the key area some miss as wiser or shrewder but not revealed or called when we prefer them to be.
Really I disagree with the contradiction theories.
It sometimes is language confusion and translational stuff.
It is consistant, truthful all the time.
Some have differing opinions and interpretatives of its texts.
The Lord is real and is known as the Living God not made with hands.

Actually, I dont know if Christianity has more followers than Islam; I was thinking Islam has more followers or it comes in a close second.

Dont jump off the cliff because everyone else does; I did, and it took me well over 30+ years to find out who Christ really was, and is (for me).

I could go into details but not here; no sense in it. Dont follow logic; follow your own heart and what makes YOU happy and if it fulfills YOUR needs.

My biggest issue is that people are so quick to judge and say everyone else is wrong...it's too bad I feel for them.

In fact, why cant we all be 'right' ! Didnt it say somewhere in the 'Bible' with God anything is possible? There's another point; people tend to put alot of things out of context in religious doctrine; however, such doings could answer the many questions different people have about their spiritual awareness; fact is, many people are simply not ready to understand a 'close walk' with 'God'.

I am a sort of Christian; AND I understand and have Islamic beliefs; how could that be you may ask? Wisdom, knowledge, and personal experiences drive the forces within me, and direct me to where I need to be; and that is what you must do.

Ask the questions; then pray; think; research; check out many different churches and religions; rinse and repeat; then your soul will finally awaken, and only then will you know.

Only thing is, be very careful; the closer you get to your answers, the easier it will be for you to be decieved. You must follow your own heart in the end, and find friends that feel the way you do.

I used to believe in Heaven and Hell; well, they may still exist, however my beliefs have changed over these years, and I am very happy with where I am and where I am going; it will take you many years to know as well; be patient!

cuz its the truth..
