If Ronald Reagan was so great how come he didn't care about AIDS?

AIDS research did not get properly funded until it affected the straight community. And the media loved to point out that it was only happening to gays ( as if them dying made no difference) Of course the major govt funding didn't come until about 3 or 4 years after the outbreak. After that the disease was already of control. Now how come no one ever mentions this when they talk about reagan huh?? Just a thought


BTW I am Straight but am very tolerant of others. I don't tell people how to live their lives just like I don't want someone bashing me for my beliefs

He did care about AIDS. It just so happened that it went from something that only seemed to affect homosexuals to something that could affect everyone on the planet. The more danger to more people just happens to get more reaction. This is why more money is spent on cancer research than on a cure for leprosy. Think about it, and take all the nonsensical bias out of the equation.

Im not saying that aids is not important back then im saying that reagan had to deal with the cold war which he ended, he had to pick up a slumping economy which he did and back then aids wasn't as big of a deal and really no one really requested funding for fighting aids.
