Why do we lose our appetites?

I'm doing my Human biology and im supposed to make a project assignment on taking care of your body when you are sick. One symptom in common illenesses is loss of appetite. What causes it? Shouldn't you want to eat more to aid your immune system?

the loss of apetite occurs cos u dont like the taste of antything when u are sick!!!! as a result there will be general weakness

your body can't fight illness and digest food - it takes too much energy. Also, if you are goingto vomit anyway it makes little sense to eat.

When you are ill feeling sick headache - love sick - when were nervous - feeling sad / down - frightend and when you have lot of problems on your mind.
