What does the symptoms of aids look like?

After first being infected with HIV (of which AIDS is the most severe stage) many people do not immediately experience symptoms. Other people, however, begin to get flu-like symptoms several days or weeks after being exposed: fever, headaches, enlarged lymph nodes, etc. These usually go away after a month or so. The infection continues to grow in the body, weakening the immune system. It can take from a few months to a few years for a person's immune system to become so weak as to show symptoms. When they do occur, they can take the form of lack of energy, weight loss, skin rashes, frequent fevers, short term memory loss, frequent yeast infections or herpes sores.

When the HIV becomes severe enough to be called AIDS, the symptoms can include: coughing, seizures, painful swallowing, memory/mental problems, diarhea, fever, vision loss, nausea, weight loss, fatigue, severe headaches, and coma.

There aren't many, if you are afraid that you have it, the best thing to do is just get tested for HIV.

they be like when a person loses a lot of weight, then has spots on they tongue and inside the mouth.

And if they ever gets a cold or the flu, then its enough to kill them probly.

AIDS is the end of having an HIV infection for a long time. By the time a doctor says that someone has AIDS, then it's usually not long till they die, unless they really takin care of themself

AIDS is a clinic diagnosis (so it most definetly is not asymptomatic) characterized by one or more opportunistic infections secondary to HIV infection. Tools such as a white-count (a measure of the number of white blood cells in your blood) can be used to assess the progress of an HIV positive patient, but a diagnosis of AIDS is not given until the appearance of secondary infections. The symptoms may vary as they are the result of a secondary infection. However, common symptoms include weightloss, frequent minor illnesses (fever, flu-like symptoms, etc.), fungal infections, etc.

As AIDS can appear several months to a year after exposure to HIV, and this can be extended to as much as 10 years or more with proper treatment, it is not advisable to wait for the appearance of symptoms. HIV infection can be diagnosed with a simple blood test. There are no clinical symptoms of HIV infection until the unset of AIDS.

There are no exact symptoms that can tell you that you 100% have developed AIDS or have the HIV infection. You should visit your local health Department for free, confidential, HIV testing.

At first there may not be any symptoms at all. The virus can live in the body without showing any symptoms for up to 10 years untreated. Symptoms do not seriously begin to develop until the virus has moved into the AIDS stage, which is the final stage of HIV infection. Within this stage, symptoms include:

Mild: fatigue, unexplained weight loss, mild fever, diarrhea, and sore throat.
Severe: loss of appetite, skin diseases, night sweats, and deterioration of mucous membranes.

The best bet is to get tested regularly if you engage in risky sexual activity, or use injection drugs. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact your local department of public health. Free testing is available, as well as risk reduction, and post-infection counseling.
