Is the disease known as Cellulitis a symptom of Aids?

I have a relative who has this condition and she is worried.

No.

But it is a symptom of a poorly functioning immune system. Most likely due to poor circulation. A common problem with diabetics and people with peripheral vascular disease.

I see lots of people who have cellulitis who never even think to ask if its related to AIDS/HIV. Why would she think this? If its on her mind, get tested.

cellulitis is more common with diabetic patients. It can be common also amoung a varity of disorders not ness. AIDS. i hope this helps

no.

It can be a RESULT of AIDS, tho.

All cellulitis is is a skin infection. It can be caused by many different things. It may be secondary to another condition, or it may be the only thing wrong. It is not an indicator of AIDS.

Hey! The best place I have found when I have a medical question is

Great site for your questions!

NO, I'm not going to say that if you have Aids you can't get cellulitis. Anyone can get it. It's not usually a symptom of Aids.

Causes
Cellulitis is caused by a type of bacteria entering by way of a break in the skin. This break need not be visible. Group A streptococcus and staphylococcus are the most common of these bacteria, which are part of the normal flora of the skin but cause no actual infection until the skin is broken. Predisposing conditions for cellulitis include insect bite, animal bite, pruritic skin rash, recent surgery, athlete鈥檚 foot, dry skin, eczema, burns & boils.

i dont think so but check with a herbalist or homeopath

tell her to detox her body

grapefruit juice will help

take olive leaf tea or extract to b on the safe side

coconut - dried or milk or fresh or cream is great for nearly everything!!!

It is fatty deposits from being just plain fat. When you do not burn enough calories it goes to your thighs, legs, rear end, tummy. Just about anywhere fat gets stored when you do not burn enough calories. Try exercise daily or several times a week and the Dr. Atkins diet should help. Keep your carbs(empty calories) low and eat complex carbs. Lay off chips, cheetos, candy and candy bars, cookies, anything with sugars, starches and flour. These are the empty calories. Eat plenty of proteins, some fat, and the complex carbs like potatoes, peas, sweet potatoes, rice(1/2 cup), pastas(1/2 cups). Eat vegetables and some fruit(1/2 cup). Find a diabetic's diet guide and follow it. Eat several small meals a day. The South Beach diet is supposed to be good for diabetics.
