Is there any side effects or anything that could happen if I stopped taking Klonopon ?

I was prescribed Klonopon (for anxiety attacks) and Ambien (sleep aid) by my doctor. I had been taking it for a month and then I stopped taking them cold turkey. After stop taking it I developed VERY dry skin all over my body. Most of the top layer of skin on both of my palms is gone, i have horrible dandriff (which I have never had in my life), the top layer of skin on my arms, legs, and buttox area is all dead as well. My skin is not red anywhere and doesnt itch. Just mainly is pealing on my palms and just dead everywhere else. Could this of been caused by me stop taking my medecine? My doctor said he doesnt think it was caused by stopping my meds, but I have never seen this before and dont have any medical condition what-so-ever. Anything helpful would be appreciated. Im tired of looking like i have the plague. haha. Thanks in advance. (If you dont know crap and just look up my symptoms up on the internet then dont bother trying to answer. I want educated answers. Thanks!)

I understand your desire to move off some medications.

However, YA is a totally inappropriate place to ask this question. Where your health is concerned - go to your doctor.

No one on YA knows your medical history, no one knows your health concerns, and I doubt you'll find a pharmacist on here willing to advise and risk their license.

I work with people who use Klonipin & have never heard of any side effect like that when stopping it cold turkey OR weaning off it.

Oftentimes, skin conditions can be the sign of an internal systemic problems, such as with your liver, etc.
I suggest you consult a good dermatologist.
