Do you understand the difference between "sins" that someone commits and "Sin" the rebellious human condition?

We need to stop thinking about religion like a four year old.

Christianity is not a list of "do this" and "don't do that"s!

Every sin we commit is merely a symptom of the underlying condition of Sin - we can treat the symptoms by trying to force ourselves not to lie or hate or steal or lust, but that's like putting a band-aid on a herpes sore.

We're not treating the underlying disease of Sin. Sin is the rebellious state of the human heart that rejects God and goes our own way... Sin causes us to commit sins, but the Sin is the real problem and the only cure for Sin is the shed blood of Christ on the cross.

Do you get the difference? Do you understand? Or do you still think Christianity is about such silliness like trying to get people not to masturbate or to give money to the church? If you're letting yourself think about Christianity that shallowly you've been asleep... wake up!

Paul specifically addresses this confusion in the book of Galatians.

There's no difference - sin is a concept invented to keep gullible people in line by ensuring they follow rules laid down by the mysterious creator who magically only the leaders get to chat to.

Sins are those behaviours which break the letter of the Law. The Law shows us our Sin.

Sin is forgiven when we accept that Jesus' Spirit has reconciled the rebellious human condition with the spirit of the Law. We received the Spirit when we believed what was preached about Jesus crucifixion. Galatians 3.

I wish I heard more sermons on true sin and not just sins. Youre right, we're too focused on SINS and not the human condition that causes it.

Christianity should be called Paulism, because it's not really a church that is based on Christ's teachings, but Paul's.

Really Christanty to me is like any other religons, do you know that the jews and muslims believe in the same god as christians do the only difference is that you believe some virgin had a kid with god that could walk on water and turn water to wine come on sounds like a fairy tale to me just read the bible there are many contradictions in that book. im not saying that christians are bad people but ive noticed that you guys are alays trying to stuff your beliefs down our thoarts and yes i understand the diffrences of sin.

you see, when God made Adam God gave him two competing natures - the spirit and the flesh

God hoped that Adam would live for the Spirit of God through his own spirit

but desires of the flesh soon overtook Eve and then Adam

Christians,

God wants your spirits to boss your flesh around - NOT for your flesh to boss your spirits around

Live for GOD through your spirits - just like Jesus did YOU MUST CRUCIFY YOUR FLESH

Paul bears all this out in all his epistles



Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.


Rom 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
