How do I becoem a pe teacher?

So I鈥檓 considering being a pe teacher. I鈥檓 almost done with my bachelors however it鈥檚 just a general studies degree. I have plenty of Education courses because I was an education major but switched to general studies/professional studies degree plan to get out quicker! After getting my bachelors I planed on teaching elementary level and doing an alternative certification program where I can teach while working on my certification.
I currently have a job as a pe teacher aid. So I鈥檓 pretty much doing the job as a pe teacher already! My current boss the head pe teacher said he may go to a different district. So I was thinking I can take my boss鈥檚 job!
So do I need to have a degree in anatomy, athletic science, etc.? Or can I do what I already had planed to do when I was planning to do the alternative certification as an elementary teacher?
Any advice? Ideas? Suggestions?

Also what is a Pedagogy test? What鈥檚 GCSE?

Hi honey how have you been? GCSE is a qualification in the UK so its not much good for you but if you wanted to teach PE in the UK as a subject you need to have a degree in teaching first but a lot of our PE teachers go to our sports university and take the qualifications in the relevant areas such as anatomy physiotherapy and sports. However if you are already doing the job you could go to your principle and ask what the relevant requirements are for the job and take it from there, they wopuld have the best idea for you. Why not check with the university you're attending. Each university, as you know, has their own classes . . . even specific certificates for people changing fields of teaching. They would be your best source of information.

I highly doubt you'll be able to take over your current teaching partner's job if there is a union in place. If you're in a non-union school (which many private schools are), go to your Human Resource office.
