Does this sound like reactive Hypoglycemia?

For many years I had a problem falling asleep at inappropriate times/places. In buses, classrooms, waiting rooms,movie theatre, at work etc.
I was tested for Narcolepsy and for thyroid problems. In the last few years I have noticed that eating lots of sugar/carbs makes me sleepy within a few hours.I did a regular blood test for diabetes and was told it was normal.
I heard of reactive hypoglycemia for the first time yesterday but I am not sure that my symptoms match.
It is very frustrating to fall asleep like that without control. The other day I was in a first aid class and I slept through having a hard collar put on me!!! I couldn't believe it when I woke up a few minutes later.. angry and frustrated.

I know for sure that I don't have high blood pressure which seems to be one of the four characteristics of syndrom X.

Sounds like syndrome X my girlfriend has it and has symptoms like your's

I have reactive hypoglycemia, which was diagnosed about two years ago. After years of being continually fatigued (I understand the falling asleep problem!) a doctor did a very thorough blood test and noticed low blood sugar - yet it was only an hour after I ate a good breakfast. So I had a GTT - glucose tollerance test - which can also be used for diabetes testing I think. You need to have the a four hour GTT to test for reactive hypoglycemia (not two hours) and they took my blood every half hour. Some doctors may not acknowledge this disorder, so make sure you find someone who can help you with this and send you for a blood test. I have found some helpful books on this disorder, and have improved a lot.... but after almost two years I am still learning and sometimes have bad days!
