I'm going to kill my cat!!!? |
we acquired a new cat... she came in one day and hasn't left. we took her to the vet got her vaccines, leukemia/aids tests, stool tests, deworming, fea and heartworm prevention. we wanted to have her spayed, but as a precaution the vet recommended seeing if she came into heat, otherwise if she had been spayed and we tried to spay her it would be an extensive exploratory type surgery looking for the ovaries and uterus. we decided to wait to see if she came into heat. well she's in heat and driving me crazy!! she squalls all the time, tries to get out of the windows, doors, any where. we have been keeping the doors and windows open since the weather is nice but she climbs and claws the screens. she is scheduled next monday to be spayed, but in the meantime i might kill her if she doesn't behave (not really, but if you've dealt with a cat in heat you know what i mean). anyway if you've had a cat in heat how did you deal with the silliness that comes along with it?? lol. I know what you mean. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do for a cat in heat. The catnip idea might work, but then again.... A carrier is good idea, she may put up fight while she's in there, but once she figures out she's not going anywhere, she may calm down. You know... if she is scheduled next monday to get spayed, then if she did go out.. well she wouldn't be that far along when they spayed her. Honestly that is the only way you are going to shut her up. Good Luck the only thing i can think of off hand is to try catnip. but be warned, catnip can either mellow her out,OR make her worse!you might try a cat carrier for a short amount of time. it won't keep her from yelling, but it will save your curtains and screens. it will also keep her from getting outside. good luck! Get her "some".....find a nice Tom Cat in the area and hook the girl up!! |
