Does Babesiosis have a high fatality rate in dogs?...or do they make a full recovery with the right treatment?

My 11month old female rottweiler got the results of her blood test yesterday and has been diagnosed with this tick illness and I suspect my 11month old male also has it I have to get him to a vet on Monday to find out..he ate fine last night but did'nt eat this morning and the same female that has already been diagnosed with it did'nt eat either last night or this morning and is moving lethargically and less peppy for about 3 days now,she got an injection for it and the vet says she has to get another in 2 weeks time...I am worried about my dogs is there anything else I can give my dog to aid recovery and also back to the main question is there a high fatality rate for this depressing tick disease??

It sounds like even if the dog recovers fully he will be a carrier of the disease for life.

There is no cure. The aim of the veterinarian is to assist the dog's own immune system to fight off the infection.

Most cases in the U.S. are mild, however more serious cases may be fatal.

Good supportive care (home nursing) is needed. That means keeping the animal well fed and hydrated, clean, warm and comfortable. Minimize stress.
