Are Learning Disabilties hereditary????!?

well i think i has dyscalculia...i havnt been tested or diagnosed...but i fit all da criteria..(but fits strictly for numbers, because im like great in science and reading/language arts.) and i was wondering because my dad seems to have dyslexia..but is great at math. my sister also has trouble with school. But is apparently the smartest academic student in her class. [She's better in reading than math]

Also my cousin who is my dad's brother;s daughter...has the same math problems as me (trouble with time, distance, left and right and simple mental math that we have to do with our fingers or visual aids.) She too, masters a skill but forgets the same day.

We can learn something, practice and apply it with no prolbmes but that very sa,em time, fail a standerized test within mintues or a few days of learning something...this goes for Algebra..we are better in gemotry relates math.

can someone with dyslexia have a kid with dyscalculia?

and can my cousin have it too?

Learning disabilities can be hereditary but it can also be brought on by malnutrition, diseases, injuries, sorry schools, habits of the mother while she was pregnant (drinking alcohol or using drugs while pregnant), the child's surroundings (too much TV watching), and toxins being released into the environment from a near by factory (including lead paint and mercury tainted fish) can all bring on learning difficulties. Any one of these factors can be a factor why learning disabilities tend to run in families.

Yes, it can be hereditary.
