God saved me?

Ok, I hear this argument a lot, some situation that could have gone terribly wrong, but didn't, and it's reasoned out to be "God's doing". obvious question- if god saved you, or blessed you or whatever, why didn't he save you the mental anguish as well and just prevent the whole thing from happening?
eg. a women has terminal cancer. told she would die in the next 3 weeks. lives on for 3+ years. credits god. if it was god's work, why did he give her cancer in the first place?? you could say, to teach her a lesson, to "test" her faith, or perhaps to invoke it, etc. but then, why stop there? why not give her aids ontop of it? why not diabetes? do you see where I'm going with this?

I get a little put off, when people say things like, "God saved my sister. She had a tumor, and they didn't think she'd survive, but after surgery, the tests showed the cancer was gone."

As if the amazing doctors had nothing to do with it.

God doesn't "give" anything bad. People usually get cancer because of genetics (generational curses), smoking (lung cancer), abortion (cervical cancer) or some environmental hazard (asbestos, lead, toxins in food, rayon in homes, industrial and automotive emissions, radioactivity, etc.).

Stop blaming God for OUR (collective) mistakes. :^)

my friend wes diagnosed with cancer and healed by God 8 months later. 5 months later he was diagnosed with a differerent cancer and 8 months later God healed him again. he said that is was so that he could be a living testimony for other people suffering from cancer. he has helped other cancer patients and they, also, were healed. God has a reason for everything in His' chidren's lives.

Because if those things didn't happen we would never learn anything. Life is about learning all you can. Its about experiancing both the good and the bad. If everything was always all good we would never grow, never feel the push to change the norm or think differently about something and life would be boring as hell.

If it was all bad, everyone would just kill themselves and get it over with. Balance, balance is always the name of the game. Can't have good without bad. In fact you wouldn't even know there was anything that was good if you didn't have bad to contrast it with.

The reason why God stops there is because there comes a point where people start to not be grateful for the gifts they recieve. People become used to the norm, and expect everything to be given to them on a platter. There HAS to be balance. Not because God ordained it, but we as humans need it. Without good and bad there is no consequences to our actions, and in turn we are not learning from our mistakes. We create a constant cycle.

well your right in the fact that there is no divine entity, god or otherwise.

random occurrences form random lives and there is enough humans on the world that some can recover from diseases and other incidents in better ways than others.

The morons who believe god did this are just that. Try to ignore the fact that they don't have enough brain cells to think straight and continue down a path of logic and reason and you will do well.

God didn't give cancer....

Our bodies are corruptible.. they disease they die,, effects of sin.

We trashed what God created pure and righteous and perfect and turned it into a sin filled world.

You can't blame God for us doing things to our bodies to cause this... aka IV drug use, aka overeating and killing the pancreas.. aka smoking, drinking... its not God, its man.

He's doing this because He has a greater bigger plan. you may not see it right now, but soon enough you'll learn to understand that everything happens for a reason. in His own good time, God will reveal it. you just have to be sensitive. maybe the people around her were meant to learn something.

We live in a fallen world with many, many problems. All the problems of today are because of the consequences of sins. Pain and suffering come to us all. It is part of our life. All will die, it is the end of life. Never has God tried to hide this from you.
But, He does tell you how to make your life better and how to make the world better. But still, you will die in some way.

yes satan wants u to blame god - but god does not create sickness he is a healer -satan is the one who destroys life - he does not want u to believe that god can heal u - satan wants u to have doubts and fears - and sickness is created by man from playing around with things they should not - trying to be god and change what god made good

God just likes to have a little dramatic theme going on every once in a while.

I mean, really, it's gotta get pretty boring being the only one of his kind.

God has His own ways of making people realize that people should be glad that their life were extended, having such a disease.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. If we never went through struggles then we would just be mindless thoughtless drones wandering the Earth. I grew up in a very religious home but formed my own beliefs as I grew older and realized there had to be something there. Even if it isn't the God of the Bible there someone kept me from dying the many times I could have, someone answered my prayer the very next day when I prayed for someone that would love me uncondtionally (even if that someone wasn't who I was expecting it to be) and the person that I met turned out to be 1 million times more amazing than the one I was waiting to come back... bottom line is that God doesn't give you more than you can handle-- realizing that turned my life around. Made me realize that yes, I had grown stronger from all that I accomplished and now married with my own child there is nothing that I couldn't handle if the problem arises. Sorry, I'm blabbing here but it's early still...

Ugggh. I can't stand Bible Thumpers! When will they realize that all they do is push people away by taking the Bible and interpreting it in the most extreme ways!

God put our bodies in "science". though God sustains us, we can get cancer, AIDS, or even the common cold. consider these test, which I do, from God himself. He can defy science by extending our lives, but He most likely will not take the cancer away for good. Not that I'm limiting Him, I'm just saying. To me it is all a test, even if I have to live with cancer for 3+ years! I would still praise God for His good works! am I saying cancer is good? No. And doctors can be wrong about that kind of stuff. they're human and they rely on technology that may not feel like working that day. Which sucks for the cancer patient!

Obviously that doctor is a quack. But I did give her cancer, the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. I just like to do more takething than I do givething.
I don't really see where you're going with this. I like to watch people suffer in various ways. One pattern stuff can be quite boring if you've done this for 6000 years you know. It's quite amazing how resiliant people are. Sometimes I have to give the same fkker cancer like 10 times.
