Irregular periods and pregnancy help!! :(?

My fiance茅 and I are currently trying for a baby, however I have been searching online for tips to aid conception and all of them aim towards period math (lol) I have extremely irregular periods so this method wouldnt work for me as no 2 cycles are ever the same... any advice? Also I did a pregnancy test today (8 days since sex) and the test was negative should I take it that its too early for it to show up on a test or that I am not pregnant? PLEASE HELP!!!! thanks xxx

The best thing to do is take your temperature daily and chart it. When your temp goes up you are ovulating. You can also buy ovulation kits (but they can get a bit expensive). You dont need regular periods to get pregnant but it does make it easier. Try to have sex every other day to maximize your chances.
Also look at your diet. Are you eating regularly, three healthy meals a day and two healthy snacks? Are you drinking plenty of water? Obviously a big help is to avoid alcohol, nicotine and drugs.
Go to your doctor and have a chat about what else you can do to help you conceive.

You can buy ovulation kits which will tell you when you're ovulating - obviously. I am not overly sure how these work as I have never used one.
You should read the instructions on the pregnancy test as these will tell you how soon after intercourse the test can give you an accurate result. Here in Australia you can get tests which give accurate results 7 days after intercourse; it varies in different countries and you always need to read the instructions. Just assume that you are not pregnant, continue having lots of sex and if you haven't gotten your period after a month do another pregnancy test.

I think you need to see a fertility specialist they would best know what to do !! With irregular periods its really hard to pinpoint ovulation and pinpointing ovulation is the 1 step towards conceiving !! 8 days after sex is way to soon to get a reliable results so i suggest you wait 2 weeks and try again !! I don't know how to tell you to do the math, but I can encourage you. I have VERY irregular periods (usually 28-32 days, but can be 24-39). I have had 2 wonderful surprises that I did not try for. One is now 8 and the other is almost a year old. So it is very possible.

I really hope you are already prego, but if not, try to use Ovulation predictor kit (i'm using clearblue digital) it will help you to find when you ovulate. Also try to chart your cycles at fertilityfriend.com. I do the same, its my 3rd month ttc and i learn a lot about myself and my patterns!!!

You tested to early for most hpt. Wait at least 3 days before your period is to arrive for an first responce type test.
If you aren't pregnant this month buy an ovulation predictor kit. That will tell you the best days to "try".

depends when you ovulated.try 29 days from lmp.if neg then test again 3 days later.do ovulation urine tests.i have same prob and i ov at diff times every month so these tests for me are brill to have sex on right day

When you have irregular periods you will have a much harder time TTC.
I have the same problem so my doctor put me on clomid.
8 days after sex is to early to get a positive. So if your period doesn't come in a week test again.
Stress can affect when you ovulate or if you do at all. So you need to relax a bit so your body can do what it needs to do.

If you can't go to a doctor and get a prescription. Try licorice root. You take it for 5 days just like clomid days 5-9 of your cycle. It has the same affect as clomid they say.

So when you get your period that is day one it doesn't matter how long your cycle was before you always start at one when you get your period.
Chart your cycle and if you can use ovulation tests to see if you are ovulating. That is important to know. Try to keep sex close to ovulation. To much sex causes a low sperm count and can make it harder to get pregnant. So you want to center sex around ovulation if you can.
