Can teachers and admins really get away with the following:?

being late to class for at least 6 classes over the past 2 years. (by late I mean 20-30 min)
lying to students to their face
lying to other teachers about student's work
cutting corners in regards to grading policies and grading in general
letting students use textbooks on credit by examination tests that are supposed to be closed book exams
distributing religiously affiliated materials
asking personal questions and making strange comments to students about their love life
discussing their personal life in class rather than lecturing.
advancing their own political ideas in class when it is irrelevant to class material
not showing up for office hours
telling student they are "bad students" when they just asked a simple question
having students go through job applicant's personal files to organize them for the teacher who is "too busy" to do it
allowing a person who is up for tenure review to look through their file and "adjust" it if necessary
letting students lose financial aid

WOW, these are a lot of bad and illegal things.
Some of these things are not illegal, but some are.
It would take a lot of work to get something done about this.
But to answer your question, it is VERY HARD to get a teacher in trouble for this, or even to get them fired.
Teachers are protected by unions and the NEA, so they can get away with anything knowing they will not get in trouble or get fired.
It is horrible the people they let teach our children.

As for administrators, you can write down everything that has happened and send a letter including everything to the school board, and the state superintendent of schools.
And file complaints

Sorry to tell you that it is definitely a yes. Teachers are not saints. Neither are the admins. They are just ordinary human beings like all of us. If you are a student, ignore what is going on, study hard and have a good life. If you are a teacher, learn to live with the screwed up system. Teachers are not exactly genuine role models. They talk a lot but they practise very little. Despite having all the paper qualifications.

For the first you were late so it isn't wrong but for the rest its really unfair because the teacher don't have the right to do this... No one complains about it these things thats why this goes on and it will keep going on until someone to raise his/her voice...

Is there proof for all of this, or are these all rumored items? If it is true, I would go to the newspaper and expose them. If they are not true, you could be sued for liable.

It seems to me like you are talking about college teachers, not high school. That's a bit tougher- you could walk and take your money with you, or gather a student organization to complain and call attention to your school's improper practices (as long as you have proof of these things!) Maybe you can get your college paper involved, also?

People have taken professors to court regarding an unfair grading system, as well as sexual harrassment. As for the lying and being late to class, and even their own political agendas, it makes them bad teachers, but they can do it. Not showing for office hours should be a violation of their contract. As for the religious stuff, it depends on the type of school you attend. Again, college isn't high school, so the rules are different.
