What's the next step?? Need a little help please?

I'm 38 years young ;-) and I am hoping to go to college for the very first time this coming fall. I have already applied at FAFSA and received an EFC of 0 with an asterisk indicating verification is needed....and I applied to the local community college....so I'm wondering what's next? Is there something I should be doing? Sending in? Tests I need to take?

If memory serves me correctly from when I was in high school, you needed to be ACCEPTED from the college first right? And THEY will let you know how much, if any student aid you can receive right?

If you get more money than you need what happens to it? Are you expected to give it back or is it yours to keep?

Verification-- the school usually sends you a letter telling you what is missing.

But you can also go to the school and ask what they need.

At community colleges, you need to take test-- they would gave them to you before you enroll for classes.

with a EFC of 0, you would get financial aid.-- At my junior college, I get more money than I spent on classes and books (around 300 more)
