How to do well in school?

I came to the realization when I got my report card that I could do better.
Okay, so that is always what happens and I become motivated for like... a week, if that.
I'm going to be a junior next year. I'm not taking as many advanced classes (because there aren't as many as you move up in my school) and I'm scared that my GPA will suffer.
So far my 3.5 gpa has been held up by doing so-so in weighted courses because I haven't been applying myself. When I do feel motivated I do great. ^-^

So at the conclusion of my sophomore year, I decided next year will be different. But I have problems with actually taking the time out to study. Most of the time I ace tests no problem by just paying attention, but I need to learn to study.

I normally cram homework in first period, and that will need to stop too. Even the semesters I have had a study hall, I sat there or dropped them to become a teacher's aid.

So how do you keep organized? How do you motivate yourself to study?

In case I wasn't clear, it wasn't knowing that studying was the answer. It was knowing how to study. I've never studied before and I have always done exceptionally well. I just want to raise my GPA. I need to learn study skills. Teach me study skills. ^-^

yeah paying attention in class and doing your hw is key to doing well in school.
and yes getting study habits can be very difficult but ifyou dont then you will never succeed in school

so. just make a schedule of when you will do this hw and then when you will do that hw and on which nights you will study and on which you will take a break. but you must stay diciplined and keep on yourself to follow the schedule you have made. there are no exceptions. you cant not do something you have planned just cuz you dont want to!!
