Hey cons, answer this?

hey you cons, tell me what you think of my situation.

I am a college student going a local community college cause I cannot afford other colleges. I have two jobs, one as a security officer around campus and another at Pizza Hut. I do not get any health insurance at any job. I also have a learning disability which has been diagnosed by a doctor performing a free test but nothing else no written report (usually are about 25 pages) or anything, so I cannot get any help or accomodations from the college. I also have a broken ankle which I have to wear a very thick sock and several thinner socks underneath that to work as a cast in a way. I do not have health insurance and cannot afford it, tuition has been raised and the student aid has run dry. What you cons think of my situation?

Oh and I broke my ankle at the Pizza Hut job, but i cannot sue cause I cannot afford a lawyer and my employers don't care.

Well, you impress me as someone who is fundamentally Republican because you continue to fight and claw to get to your goal, even as more hardships come into your path. I beleive that you will make it. If you were a true Democrat, you would have quit a long time ago, insisting that you were entitled to a handout. In other words, you have the American spirit that built this country into the land of freedom, liberty and opportunity.

Didn't you say you're from Ukraine? Welcome to the USA. If you're looking for sympathy from the conservatives, I can almost bet they're going to trash you as a whiner. They'll ask why you bother getting on Y/A if you have all these problems. As for me, all I can say is hang in there. In life it all comes down to either or. Either you do or you don't. Good luck.

is there a college around your parent's house you can go to? why can't you go live with them again? many college kids get too much of a dose of reality and have to move back with parents till college is done. why not make it easier on yourself.

They have to have employee disability insuranceto pay for the accident if you were hurt on the job. But, I think your whole question is some BS you made up, to try and convey some liberal universal HC crap.

I'm not a con, but I'll answer your question.

I went to community college because I couldn't afford other colleges. I studied and worked hard and got a scholarship to a full University. I worked my way through it loading trucks.

If the job as a security officer and Pizza Hutt isn't cutting it, I suggest maybe getting an entry-level position with a company that has tuition reimbursement and health insurance. You'll have to take night courses, but only you are responsible for your success.

If you broke your ankle at Pizza Hutt, you may be able to find a lawyer pro bono.

Tuition was raised every semester for me and I had to find a way to make it work. It wasn't easy, but there is always a way.

Pretty rough situation. You should get a different job that offers health insurance. Health insurance isn't a right, it's a privilidge.

I recommend you looking into our monetary policy. Because I understand the point you're trying to make: If we had universal health care I could get this treated.

Trust me universal health care is the last thing this nation needs. Instead look at ways you can get a health savings account, cheap medical coverage, save your money, goto a college that has cheaper tuition, etc.

I work a full-time job, I pay my own tuition and I pay for everything my own way without the stupid Government.

You are a hero to us. You are working hard and you have a great attitude. Thankfully, in our world, all that hard work will pay off. You have the respect and admiration of your peers. One day a trooper like you will graduate and make a great living. You are, and will be, successful due to your accomplishments. You know, as I do, you are not entitled to anything. You can, however, earn anything.

Now then, the Liberals in this country will try and convince you that you are a victim and you are entitled to things without hard work and achievement. You will be convinced to work 1 job. To give up college. And to expect to be compensated by those who had it easier. They will try to use jealousy and a negative attitude to do so.

I am sorry about your injury. I don't have health insurance either. I just pay cash at the clinic. They typically let me pay in payments (3 usually). Do you think you can get a pay advance?

Well I know that at community colleges (at least in southern California at least, they do provide medical assistance for broken bones, as well other things, you can also go to a charity if you make too little). Furthermore what about student loans, That's how I am paying anyways, interest is low and you don't have to pay until after you done with college, so no college is out of your reach (financially at least, so that excuse is gone).

That about covers it,
1) get student loans
2) college provides for basic medical needs and there are groups that can help at inexpensive costs with other medical needs you just need to look
3) keep up the hard work and look for replacement for security officer (If it is anything like it is at my school it doesn't require a lot or pay a lot.)
4) keep applying for add and scholarships if possible (hard through), I got one for being seriously injured and staying in school, everything helps
5) if you have any friends/family that can help now is a time to get reacquainted

Best of luck to you either way, it will get better and no system is perfect, so scrutinizing a system for an incredible minority would be undemocratic in nature.

Well, that's the problem with liberals, all they can think of is THEMSELVES rather than policies that in the long term are beneficial to the entire society. Your solution implied by your comments is that you shouldn't have to pay for medical bills nor should life be so hard for you working and going to college. Historically people eaked out a living, with enough to eat being the goal. Yet today we need more, believe we deserve more. 99% of college age people need free medical care like a person needs a third shoe, but to pay for it as a mandatory requirement would bankrupt either the individual or the business who has to pay for it, all for the 1% who might "need" it. Suck it up, pay for the broken ankle, and move on. It's a rough world out there and the answer is not for someone else to pay for your life situations.
