General Biology II and MCAT question???

Im taking General Biology II right now over the summer for financial aid purposes to maintain a certain amount of hours (another story). Being new to the college life I have realized that science courses over the summer are not a wise choice. I just bombed a test dealing with the animals and their classification. I personally do not have the time to backtrack and relearn all those chapters because we have moved on to new material. I am sure that there will be other topics in other classes that may be essential to the MCAT but are overly rushed. I personally can careless about learning about annelids, arthropods, etc. because I am a pre-med but its essential for the MCAT not medical school so....I got to "know" it. How do you prepare for the MCAT if material taken in a class was rushed?

The MCAT has some general biology and there is probably like, one question on taxonomy, but what's more important is the chemistry and biochemistry knowledge you have. So, unless you think you will be so good in the other topics that you dont need to answer that one question, then sometime you will have to come back and learn this stuff.

I think there may be a more fundamental problem here. What do you mean by 'rushed?' Taxonomy is about the easiest thing there is in biology. If you are having problems with that, how are you going to do O-chem? It is not a question of the prof 'rushing.' There are x chapters in the book that have to be covered, so divide the number of chapters by the number of days and that's what you have to learn every day. The prof is not going to slow down for people who feel 'rushed' while there are other kids who are keeping up and who deserve to be taught everything that the med schools want.

It is going to be even more 'rushed' when you get to med school. So you have to work up your study skills, and dedicate yourself to spending however many hours it takes to learn the material. That might mean that you literally have no life at all except with your books. For all of us who are not geniuses, it is a question of desire...
