Georgia volunteer EMT MEdical feild interests me, proactive community. Volunteer job summer? |
Hi. I am a high school student in junior year. I want to be proactive and help out the community. I already volunteer at Northside Hospital at the PACU (Post Anesthetical Care Unit) unit of the hospital and I am delighted to work there. I want to do more though. I only go there 2 days a week. recently at breakfast I was exposed to the field of EMT, considering how much the medical field interests me, I was wondering (and searching) how can I become a beginning EMT -1medic. I know i have to take a test every 2 years and certification requirements vary from state to state. So can anyone help me out in trying to persue becoming an EMT or at least being certified in becoming a potential EMT. I will be taking CPR and First Aid classes and obtain a certificate. I want to know where can I take classes to study in becoming or being able to volunteer at a Medic station. I live in Georgia know how to monitor/ check vitals. ask your local ems depts on where to go to school... or check your local collages... you mill have to start out at the lower level of emt to make it up to medic, but its worth it, well if that is what you want to do.. |
