How much should I charge as a nanny in Reno?

Ok. So I am looking to be a nanny in Reno NV. I moved here about 6 months ago and I wanted to get settled before I went looking for a job where I would make a long term commitment. SO now I know I used to be a baby sitter before I moved here and currently I am working in a gym taking care of children, so I do have a lot of experience...

So this is my question. how much should I ask for if I am going to take care of two children and who goes to school and one who does not.. In California I charged 18 for two kids just to babysit. But this is a fulltime job and that would be way too much for me to ever ask. This job is not about the money at all its about the children. I just need enough money to pay my bills. So I was wondering if 400 a week at about 50 hours a week... Is that reasonable...

More info: I am CPR / first aid certified, I am willing to do a backround/ drug test and I have a lot of experience

Sorry if I don't make a lot of sense but its Friday and I am exhausted!!

With your experience and certifications, I would suggest you ask for at least $460/week. When I was a nanny...10 yrs ago, I made $250, never paid for medical, they gave me an apartment within the home, re-embursed all my food bills, and provided me with a 2 yr old vehicle. My only expense was gas lolol back then it was the deal of a lifetime.
FYI: I paid $10/hr the other day so that I could go to the hospital, but of course the safety and well-being of a child is priceless...so ask for what you deserve. Good luck! and hope everything goes as planned.

400 is more than reasonable hun. I moved from Vegas in 04. Here living in a town of 26,000 in Tennessee nannies charge 400/week. You might even consider going 450-500/week.

G'luck....sure miss those desert sunsets sometimes :)

I haven't had a nanny but I run a conversation group for parents here

Perhaps you can pose the question to them?

At least $10/hr, but probably closer to $15
