Blue streaks in blonde hair...good idea or bad idea?

I have naturally dirty blonde hair, and I have never dyed it so that is why I am concerned now. I really want to put blue streaks in my hair. It is long (1/3 down my back) and wavy. I really want it for summer, but I'm not sure how long I will like it...I kinda just want to test the waters. What do you think I should use? (kool-aid, color hairwand thingys, semi-permanant hairdye?) and will these permanently ruin or discolor my hair? I love my hair and don't want to damage it for a long time, but I just want a change.

Ok, it WILL go green... eventually blue dyed hair fades out to green.
However in most cases It looks so awesome blue that the green afterwards is worth it cos you can just dye it again/bleach it out.
If your hair is dirty blonde you should probably bleach the bits you want blue first cos they'll come out brighter if you do that and it will last longer.
You can just get semi-permanent dyes or spray on ones that wash out with one wash if you want to test out the look.
also you could get clip in coloured hair extensions... these look cool and are cheap and dont hurt your hair.
Bleaching and dying your hair with un-natural colours will damage it but there are lots of products you can use to reverse this damage. also it wont be that bad if you only do it once. make sure you use good quality salon shampoo and conditioner or at least colour protecting ones.
also blue is the hardest colour to dye your hair. maybe consider purple or red cos they dont look so bad when they fade and they're much much easier to do.

yes do it i have done things like this for years but i like purple that is my favorite color in fact there is singer called berlin shes in a group. she has black tips and i had my hair that way for years and got som many compliments it great to be different but not stupid. that is one thing it has to look nice i woul suggest wearing alot of blue it helps with it blending in and the people will get it easier that way especially the stuffy ones. take care.

Try got 2 b's tubs of colored hair gel.
That way you can see how you like it and not worry about being stuck with something you don't like.

Just a tip: Crazy colors in your hair is out this season, if you care or not. If not, that's cool too. =)

I would try something a little less extreme....because if you don't like it you'll either have to wait until it grows out (which may take a while), re-die it, or cut it. Maybe, like, light blond streaks since you have dirty blond hair!

i would say BAD..
i have blonde hair and i put some red in my hair and edventully its going to faid.

mine went to orange and blue might go to a lite green...but good luck!

Good idea! Haha! That would look great! Use some " 6 week" hair dye. It comes off in 6 weeks! Also would Kool Aid really work? Haha! Good Luck! I hope this helps! :D
