I got my nose pierced May 20th, 2008. Is it ok to wear a band-aid to cover it at work?

My boss told me i had to cover it up, and im not willing to take it out yet. [btw it stopped bleeding and it never hurt to begin with] It would be on for no more than 5-6 hours at work until mid August. I tested it out by cutting a very small square of the band-aid and placing it around the piercing, not actually touching the stud, if u know what i mean.

yes, you can do that...that is actually what is suggested if you will be coming in contact with any chlorine...so you will be fine to put it over the peircing. ps thats what we do at my job to cover our peircings as well so it works pretty well. hope that helps.

Do not use a band aid as the adhesive can irritate the piercing and it suffocates the piercing. Instead, since your piercing is past the initial healing stage, go to your piercing parlor and buy some retainers. They are clear/flesh colored pieces of jewelry usually made of acylic or plastic. You can put them in and it looks very inconspicious, kinda like a pimple. Good luck~

of course you can, but the bandaid is going to be more distracting than the nose stud. I have mine pierced and i was supposed to cover it for marching band but the bandaid was more noticable than my tiny nose screw.

yeah i would wear a band-aid but once you feel comfortable with changing it there's something called a "retainer" that's clear and you can't see it, so i would stick with wearing it then!

Yeah thats fine.Just make sure you get one without anti-biotic stuff on it and make sure the sticky part doesnt touch the piecing.It would be easier to ust heal it with a quartz retainer tho.

You should be healed enough to use a piercing retainer.

2. leave it in

Better than band-aid, any antibiotic cream could be more ideal. Try with your local chemist.
