Do I need to take a Pharmacy Tech. class?

i want to just study and take the Pharm tech test already, since i already have taken numerous chemistry and math courses that should help me for the test. but when i look for a job say at a hospital and not a local pharmacy like Rite-Aid and see that im certified, would it help me more if i went through the pharmacy tech class or will being certified be enough? hope this makes sense

Personally, it would look much better if you did pass a pharmacy technician course at a local community college. It would show the head pharmacy tech and also pharmacy director of the inpatient pharmacy that you mean business and are eager to learn and enter into this field. You must have your PTCB certificate and state license in order to become a hospital CPhT (well, in Virginia you have to).
