Should I test possible girlfriends for STD's?

I'm not trying to be funny, I'm being dead serious. I have a girlfriend now, and I know she's a virgin so I'm safe there, but what about if we break up and I look for another? With the way things are today, how do you know the girl you want to hook up with doesn't have AIDs or something? I'm pretty sure if I asked them to get checked before we became intimate, she'd probably be insulted and leave but...I wouldn't want to get AIDs or something. What would you do?

I would realize that there are very good reasons to avoid sex until you are very mature and in a committed, exclusive relationship. (marriage comes to mind).

For many generations, young people lived without premarital sexual relations. They also lived without STD's and unplanned pregnancy. Additionally, their mental health was better because they had not given too much of themselves too soon.

By all means, require each new girl to show evidence of recent tests. That should help tremendously in the prevention of STD's and pregnancies.

take your STD test together, that way she can know your results too. I think that most reasonable people will not be insulted by asking for their STD status. I still hope that not matter what the results are that you will use a condom. Please don't feel a false sense of security is negative test results. You don't want to have a unplanned pregnancy.

If you dump your girl and the next one acts upset that you want her to get tested, then i say she is suspect and you should keep it pushin. She should be impressed that you ask that and feel safer with you. Btw. i've seen a few people in a relationship get burned by their partner:( But have also seen people who are single for a long period of time use caution 99.9% of the time who have never caught stds or had kids before they were ready!

Use a condom, and spermicide. If you're really that nervous about it whatever you do don't broach the subject on the first date >_<

Of course. When you ask them out on a first date, ask them to bring a docors certificate showing "No AIDS" with them.

It would be great if someone would invent condoms...

get testd after each new relationship or be4 the next new relationship it's always better to b safe!
