What is wrong with people? Why would ANYONE want to Join Peta?

I can鈥檛 fathom why anyone would ever join such a horrible hypocritical extremist group such as P.E.T.A. It is a fact that last year P.E.T.A. killed 90 percent of the animals that they took in. I thought they loved animals? If they loved them so much why would they kill MOST of them? I mean I could understand that SOME of them may have been beyond help but god 90 percent. Also they use SCARE tactics on KIDS. They do not want KIDS to drink MILK that they need. Man they are not doing the world any favors at all. I mean there are much better animal groups to join than P.E.T.A. It is a FACT that P.E.T.A. supports Terrorists. They support ALF. An extremist group that uses violence to make their point known. (ALF stands for animal liberation front) Also they have stated that they would rather have no animal testing than a cure for AIDS!! That鈥檚 kind of messed up as well.

So I ask people here. How could anyone be so crazy enough to join this horrible group? Why do they do it? It makes NO sense.

I agree - I too find it hard to fathom why anyone would want to join PETA, given their links to extremism and their hypocrisy. But that's not the face of PETA the public see.

PETA run campaigns against the fur trade, which I would say most Americans and British are against anyway. They also run campaigns against the seal culling in Canada, and the lay American or Britain has probably seen that famous picture of a seal about to be clubbed (http://www.sharkkarma.com/uploaded_image... ). Plus PETA have famously exposed the animal abuse by a few animal technicians in the Huntingdon Life Sciences research facility, which led to the government revoking their licence for 6 months.

So, in the general public perception, PETA have become a bastion of "animal rights". They equate PETA with being good for animals, with out knowing about its dark underbelly.

In the case of medical research, PETA publishes shocking photos, without saying where they are from, what the experiment was and when it was taken. What PETA publishes on animal research is definitely not representative of what I have seen in animal research facilities. Nonetheless, as the general public are not privy to access to these facilities, they believe the lies that PETA spout, and join PETA thus providing funds for PETA to continue to spread their lies, fund terrorists (such as the ALF and ELF), and uses sick tactics of waiting outside school gates to target kids with literature that states things like "your Daddy kills animals"

i joined peta, im vegan, and i hate what happens to animals, i agree , NO animal testing, thats not fair to the animals. poor babies... its not right to intentionally give someone/something that cant be cured. how would you like it if they did that to your parents/ kids?? if your family died because of an experiment?? thats not right. or if your family was slaughtered right in front of you then thrown on the grill and eaten?? then you knew you were next. and everyone else. and with them killing animals, its that in no-kill shelters, there have been many cases where someone has gone to drop off their dog, been told there was no room and threw their dog out the car window. and the dog dies painfully and sometimes slowly and alone. they do it by shots, where it is quick and painless. so the animals dont suffer. people need to stfu about how peta is bad. they help a lot of poor , defenceless , loving animals every year. some die, yeah, but either way. its easier on the animals then it would be by the owners.
