Aids and STDS?

I had an Aids and Stds screening and it came back negative.

The man that I was with was unfaithful and I felt as though it was necessary. Well I let him know that all the test results came back negative and he said see I told you that I haven't been cheating. (he was I know it but he just isn't man enough to admit it). Anyways I am so over sleeping with him because I cherish my life but I told him just to be safe that he should get himself tested because he could have something. He said that I am wrong hbecause since my test results came back negative that he doesn't have anything because I would have gotten it, not true right, Should I push him to get tested I am over the cheating thing and I just want him too be safe. After all I do really care for him and still consider him a really good friend. I am able to put differences aside. I mean it didn't work no biggie, no reason to hold a grudge. Am I right?

You are a great advocate of your own health! I think it's great that you had an STD test after you found out your current sex partner had sex with someone else. If he refuses to get tested, there's not a whole lot you can do unfortunately. He's very incorrect in thinking that because your test results came back negative, he must not have anything. It's never wise to assume you are STD free based on SOMEONE ELSE'S test!

If you're still concerned with your friend's health you can always gather some info for him so that he can be aware of the severe consequences that can come from undetected STD's (ex. becoming sterile, developing penile cancer, etc.).

What he's saying is totally backwards. There are a lot of cases where one person's test results may come out negative, and the other person's results may come out positive. And it's a great thing that you got yourself checked and I commend you for urging him to get tested as well. Also, next time when you urge him to get tested, make sure you tell him to get tested for all the STD's, not just one specific one. You are absolutely right. Just because you tested negative does not mean that he will. He could have something and just not passed it on to you. Transmission does not happen every time someone engages in sexual activity. He needs to get tested.

Even though he might not gave you something, he was just lucky this time. If you know for sure he's cheating, then he might not give you aids but he might would give you an std you ARE right, and your life is way more important.鈾?/div>
