Has anyone heard that if McCain gets elected, he will force anyone on federal aid to be drug tested?

My friends dad told me this the other day. He said this includes people on food stamps, disability, any kind of state or federal aid. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

ok, for the girl who asked if I got this out of that stupid newspaper, what part of my friends dad told me this did you not understand? And I do live in a trailor, and I do get assistance because I am single and pregnant, but I am not on drugs and I do have a job. To everyone else, I totally agree with you.

No, but it is a GREAT idea!!

President doesn't have the power to do that with the two houses. That being said, like many I agree that it should be put into practice for two reasons~
1) I have to undergo a drug test to get my job, which in turn contributes to federal aid.

2) I was actually approached by a strung out woman trying to sell her food stamp card for cash at 7-11.

No, McCain hasn't mentioned it, but it is an excellent idea, after all the people who are taxed to pay for it have to be drug tested. And it would be right down liberals alley,,they would get to tell those people how to live their lives better.

How would he do that?? Do you really think this is something that is within the President's authority to enact by himself? It would take an act of Congress to create such a thing.

No I haven't heard that. What a great suggestion to add to his platform, and one that would receive overwhelming support. Those who would appose it are Obama voters, anyway.

Did you/the friend's dad get that one out of the National Enquirer? Good source of news if you live in a trailer. (a vast percentage of my mother's family lives in trailers ... and I still stand behind my comment!)

I don't think that is accurate... but As Long as Federal and State Employees have to take the same tests, I guess you could consider it.

Actually this is a false statement. Nevertheless that is how it should be. Why should my tax dollars ge handed out to drug abusers?

It's a fantastic idea..but McCain cant just do that on his own..
