I'm hurt I want to go to college really bad husband is in the military ? |
Everything in my life sucks right now and I regreted not going to nursing school when I did pass the test to get in. my husband said with all the deployments it's just to hard and these deployments with him been going on for 5 years. I pay almost all are bills seems like as a married couple we could figure out something but he just lets it go. Me and you are in the same boat I talk to my husband about this Im in japan and I hate it i love my husband be school is my future our future his okay with it for now but I no its going to be a fight when time come to time Im goin to medschool my sister in law also married into the military, and has a two year old son. She is currently enrolled in a surgical tech program. It can be done! Her hubby gets deployed 6-7 mo out of the year. He's supportive, but she's hardheaded and would've done it anyway. You CAN do it. If your husband is in the military you as a dependent will have your college paid for. Go to the college and call them and see what you need to bring in. Im retired and my stepson had his college paid for and about 900 a month for whatever. try going to school online. they have a variety of financial options, and if u need a student loan, u don't have to have a co-signer.U could also still work and not have to disrupt anything in ur life. Make sure u have a reliable computer before you enroll in any online courses!! good luck!!! ditch the jerk and go see a counselor. file for alimony and/or a share of property and take a car with you. you can rent a room or apartment somewhere and get a job. good luck. who will take care of the baby when you are in school? do they have on site day care? this seems to be your biggest problem. wow- you really want this...go for it! really...do whatever it takes or ..you guessed it...it will never happen and you will just look back on it wishing you had done it. I'm serious- it's not like you are wanting to run away to Europe..you are wanting to better yourself and your life so there should be no hesitation. Hope that helps :) Hunny if your husband is active duty military then they passed a new bill in January 2008 that states the wife can use his G.I. Bill. I am currently using my husbands G.I. Bill and it is paying for EVERY BIT of my school and my books. You have plenty of options. Take out student loans. You will be making enough money when you get out of school to pay them back. Apply for scholarships. Before I started using my husbands G.I. Bill I was getting all of my school paid for by scholarships. I had a scholarship for being married, I had a scholarship for being married to a Marine, I had a scholarship for being left handed, I had a scholarship for coming from a home w/ divorced parents, and I had a scholarship for writing a paragraph paper on whether or not there should be a school uniforms in high school. You can get scholarships for ANYTHING, you just have to be able to put forth the effort to find and get them! Now is the time...the more you put it off the more excuses you will make for why you can't go!! Just do it! yes you should go to college and your husband should stand behind you on this matter, you can go to college right at home on the computer there is special-grants that you can look into that might be able to help you pay for your college degree. if you don't you will regret going and be very unhappy. if it makes you happy go for it. good luck No one is worse at math then I am!! I am 28 and am trying to currently pass a algebra course. It SUCKS!! Girl, it is never the wrong or right time to go to school. Just go. Go talk to them, they have ways of helping you. I am married and never thought that I could get help to pay for it. Yes I have student loans that I have to pay back but so what!! I also was approved for federal grants and federal loans. Go and talk to them. If you wait for the right time you will never find time. Now is the right time - just do it. Check into all the grants and also call the school back and tell them that you want to go, but can't afford it. They may have some type of program that will help you. Don't give up on this dream of yours. You are going to regret it the rest of your life if you don't go. What if this marriage doesn't work and you have no way to support yourself and your son? And don't worry about the math - just get in school and do it now. There's no better time than the present to do it. Get up in the morning, hold those shoulders up and call that school. If you don't do it for yourself, do it for your child. Good Luck :) |
