What are the best and worst parts of wearing a Cochlear Implant? |
I have been re-tested today and told my hearing is almost flatlining (well certainly significantly dropped in capacity since I was last tested and my current hearing aids are turned up to full capacity). I am being referred to a Cochlear Implant Clinic and just wanted to find out from any current wearers just how "totally hot and awesome" they really are. I've heard nothing but great things about them. You should be excited! It'll change your life for the better! Jellz, can't specifically answer your question, but I have a genetic predisposition to tinnitus. Damned annoying and irritating, but that's life. I prefer the external amplifier with ear buds. Looks like a Walkman, and you can turn up, down, off, whenever you like. It's totally comfortable, relatively inexpensive. Jellz, |
