Applying and getting accepted to UC Berkeley?

I recently took the SAT and have a total score of 1920. I have yet to take my subject tests. I have several strong teacher recommendations on the way and have been an A and B student for my entire high school career. I have an average of just under 98 and a GPA of 3.96. I'm a dual athlete and have a nice line of extracurricular activities (community service, fundraisers, yearbook commitee, student class representative, teacher aid). I'm an out of state student who has a very strong idea of what I want to major in and am very passionate. What are my chances of getting in? What could I improve to get in? Please be honest.

You have a slight chance of getting in but not very sure because you are out of state Berkeley will have higher standards for you. Overall I think you score is great, your grades are good, good extracurriculars, and just make sure to volunteer more. Please try to improve your GPA, and write a good personal essay. Good luck!

Seriously though, if I were you I'd retake the SAT--otherwise you've got as good a chance as anyone else out of state. The out of state bit may be a bit of a wildcard--what with CA's chronic budget problems I'm not sure if they're doing weird things with accepting people. And if you don't get into Cal you'll certainly get into someplace good...

Also apply to UCLA and UCSD. Two backups, one application...

I actually believe that you can get in because the harder colleges looks for what extra activities you do.

P.S ignore the people, they are stupid because they'll be the one working at a crappy place later in life and you'll be getting all the hot lady and living in a mansion with a bank full of money and gold! Just kidding about the bank of money and gold, but the others are true. . .

P.S I just came home from a field trip and I went to U.C Berkeley! My teacher went there, looks like a pretty hard school but I believe in you!
