I have chlamydia but my husband claims he has been faithful...?

I need some help. I have been faithful to my husband of 5 years (we have been together for 9) and I went to the doctor and he diagnosed me with Chlamydia. I was so mad and when i told my husband, he swore he has not cheated. Is it possible he is telling the truth? Could our body chemistry have created the disease? Does anal sex create the disease? He said he went to the doctor and the doctor said yes but I don't believe it. I am so shocked right now and before I file for divorce, I want to see if there is any other possible way I got it. I know for a fact I haven't had sex with anyone else in over 8 years and I just got tested for Aids, Herpes, Chlamydia, and Gonorrhea 2 months ago so this had to be something recent.

I thought I would add some more insight because there are questions. I foud out I was pregnant in August and they always do STD test and becuase it was time for my normal pap. I had a miscarriage at approx 11 weeks and I got the Mirena IUD. I went to the hospital last Saturday because I had been having pain in my stomach and when I got to the ER they said I had cysts on my overies because of the IUD but they also did an STD culture while doing the pelvic exam. They said it is routine whenever they do an internal exam in the ER. That is why I had another recent test.

You didn't say husband has it. I think you're the one cheating. Quit lying to your husband.

Chlamydia has to start somewhere.. so it could have started in you. Diseases work in mysterious ways.

If you have ever doubted your husband, or wondered about his faithfullness, chances are your instincts are right and he's cheating, but if you NEVER thought he was cheating or thought anything was up, chances are he is telling the truth.

did he get tested when you were married?
yes it can lie dormant or you may have just not caught it off him
its also possible you got a false negative because it is very very very common. this can because by you taking anti biotic at the time or before . some times you may have it but the swab of the cervix they took was on a part that didn't have any Chlamydia at that moment

he cheated chlymidia is a sexually transmitted disease therefore u can only get it through sexual contact. The reason why you had a miscarriage is because you had chlymidia. Chlymidia causes pain in your abdominals and if not treated immediatly it attacks your reproductive system usually resulting in infertility.

No germs create the disease, not anal sex or body chemistry. Ask your Dr. if it is possible that the test 2 months ago could have been wrong. It does make me wonder why you are testing so often, but no... there is no way to get it except exposure.

I'm not entirely sure on this, but I think that STDs can be dormant for a certain amount of time. It sounds really fishy though since you've been together almost 10 years. I would ask your doctor if there is any way it could have been dormant.

It is most likely from your husband cheating on you. Make sure that you know for a FACT he cheated on you before you make the biggest mistake of your life. Go to the doctor yourself to see if he is telling the truth

I think you need to go back to the doctor and get the truth for yourself, from a reliable source.

Either of you could have had it a long time. Have you been tested before?

When was your last STD test before this? Also you have to remember that just because you've had an annual test at your gynecologist does NOT mean that you've been tested for STDs. You have to either ask for it, or your doctor has to offer it to you. It's not one of those things that just gets tested with a pap. Your doctor probably just recently contacted you about the chlamydia because you said you were just recently tested. I'm pretty sure that chlamydia is one of those STD's that can remain dormant in a man because they don't show the samy symptoms as women and some men can just be carriers and not show symptoms at all. Also some STD's such as HPV can show symptoms anywhere from right after, 20 days, or months after contact.

I think you should talk to your doctor and get more information. Also talk to your husband about this. Over the past 9 years could there have been a time that you two "had a break" and maybe he slept with someone else one night? Are there any other things that would lead you to think he's having an affair or has had one? You two should probably talk about these things before you jump into a divorce.

I have good and bad news for you.

Chlamydia is transmitted through vaginal, anal, and oral sex. It may be transmitted from infected mother to newborn child. Sometimes chlamydia is a silent disease and you don't notice any symptoms, and it can only be detected if you specifically asked your doctor to test for STDs. If you do show symptoms, these symptoms include burning sensation, pain during sex and urination, abnormal discharge, etc.

So my question to you is...did you find out you have chlamydia because you experienced the symptoms I mentioned and then you got yourself tested, or you just randomly had your doctor test you for it even though you did not experience symptoms?

If you experienced the symptoms, that means your husband cheated on you rather recently. If symptoms of chlamydia occur at all, they usually occur within 1-3 weeks of exposure.

If you did NOT experience the symptoms, then your husband may NOT have cheated on you; that you might have gotten it a long long time ago but it went silent so you never found out.

You cannot "create" the disease from body chemistry or anal sex. It is a bacteria that is only spread through sex. You cannot get it from a toliet seat or from sharing towels. And you have not had it for 9 years if you were negative in August.
I am sorry that your husband has been such a jerk. If he can't be honest about what he is done, it is time to move on. If he can be honest with you, maybe you could work it out. But remember, he put your health at risk. What if the other woman had had HIV instead of chlamydia. Be careful and again, I'm sorry
