If I took a test now, a week after the incident would the results of the test be accurate? will I have to keep testing for a long period of time before i know for sure? The window period for testing is 3 months. Usually HIV shows up 90% of the time after 30 days, 94-96% after 60 days and 99.6% after 90 days, a few people take longer, but not often. I would suggest testing after 30 days and then again at the 90 day point. And IF you are sexually active use condoms.
