How Early Can I Take A Pregnancy Test?

Well, I'm a few days late on my period. I know, I know, that's normal. But usually by now, I'm cramping, bloated, moody, etc. I have none of these signs & I have been on no birth control for about 5 months or longer. I have a rite-aid brand pregnancy test and I really want to take it to make sure that I am/am not. I don't want to take it too soon, however. So does anyone know how early you really can take it without getting a false negative?

i've been awake all night wondering the same thing. and have been contemplating going to the store and buying a test to ease my mind for a bit. i'm not supposed to start for another 2 days. i should probably just save my money.

i'm pretty sure though through my continuous googling that 2 or 3 days before your expected period is probably the soonest you might want to take it. it's like a 90-95% accuracy rate at this point.. but the more days you wait, the higher the percentage goes.

Really depends on individual. For my i got positive results 1 week before my period is due. But my friend was late for 2 weeks, all 5 test she took was negative. She had to take a blood test in the end and was positive.

I'm 14 weeks pregnant. You can view my Baby's blog at:

You should get an accurate result by now if you are 5 days late. However, some women take a long time for enough hcg to build up. Use first morning urine or hold it for 4 hours before taking it - that gives time for the hcg to build up and give a more accurate result. Good luck!

I took a 1st response 4 days before my period was due and it said positive. So the ones that say 'results 5 days sooner' do work. At least for me it did.

Well with the first response kits you can take a test up t o 5 days before your missed period.
I took it 5 days before ( 9DPO) and i got a very very faint positive!
Good Luck

three days after the "ceremony"
