The Hard Drive on my HP Laptop is bad. Is it true I can't get any info off of it at all? |
The HP diag text states "#1- 07 FAIL". Its the test in the advanced menu, pressing F10 at start up gets you there. HP told me my info is gone. For the basic computer user that statement is true, However it is not entierely accurate. You can recover data from damaged hard drives and there are data recovery tools. Cost depends on the drive and the type of damage (like fire, impact damage, age etc). But here is a quik site to check for more info you can do a broader search for software options if you have another computer to work from. |
