Does this sound not normal? |
So I am starting my 11weeks pregnant today... Last week I went to doc first time and wanted ultra sound to make sure everything okay and they refused instead only giving me routine blood work but did not even take blood test of my HCG levels... Well I decided to call today to get the result of the 10 tubes of blood and find out what they really were testing for and the nurse told me they dont have the results yet... Isnt that weird for them to not be in its been over a week since they took the blood?!?! Well then Last week i went to my reg doc and had them get the HCG test done and had result very next day... so I am confused why this doctor cant get the results within a few days espiecially its the same damn blood lab! But they told me I was high risk because the previous miscarriage happening... so thats why I am so confused! I know you are worried, but unfortunately one m/c does not label a woman as a high risk pregnancy. 1 out of every 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage within the first 12 weeks and those chances go for every healthy woman. But with every week that goes by, you have a less likely chance of miscarriage. The answer is suppose to be vary by person. From my personal view, always it is a good idea to hear the voices from different sides and try to decide the best one. Here http://www.healthinsurance-onlinetips.in... is a good one that i recommend. If I were you I would go to the hospital and have the ultrasound done and be done with it. or find another doctor. good luck! Its frustrating. I KNow, I been there. I have a bicornuate uterus, a high risk pregnancy. Couldnt get the doc to do an ultrasound, so I went to the hospital... you dont wanna lie, thast understandable, but they wont just give you the ultrasound for no reason at the hospital. I would go to the hospital if I were you bc it doesnt sound like your doc is concerned enough to do the ultrasound. So, go on to the hospital. Theres nothing to lose but time. Good Luck You're only 11 weeks, there's not really a rush for your results unless you are catergorized as high risk, which you can't be bc they didn't give you an ultrasound. Most Drs. will do an us with your first exam, yours sounded rude to me. Neway, I'm sure you are fine just be patient. I say if you really want piece of mind, get a second opinion. If you want to go to the hospital, just tell them you're worried and you want an ultrasound. If you've had cramping, you can tell them and it's not lying. You stated you've been having cramping. If you don't want to go to the hospital and get the ultrasound, then don't do it. You need to do what you feel is right. Well about the blood test and if they're doing frozen samples then it takes a longer period of time. I have blood work done all the time because i had surgery and now i'm pregnant (it's always something lol) and if they're testing frozen samples it takes longer. It also depends how many other people are getting tested they could be backed up like crazy. I know that some doctors actually do NOT have ultrasound equipment in their office, which is odd but true. Also many doctors will not give you an ultrasound until the 18th-22nd week and then a second one a few months later. This is not uncommon, my original doctor said that he only did two ultrasounds throughout the pregnancy when i went to him in my 8th week, but i recently moved and the doctor i go to now does an ultrasound at every appointment. I recommend that you change doctors as soon as you can. Hopefully you can find one that will listen to your concerns and treat you with respect. However, i don't know of any OB's that are very prompt so you still may have to wait. Hope i helped at least a little :o) Good luck. |
