Any good SAT prep books?

I can't afford to take a 3-thousand dollar class. Do any of you know any good books or software to aid in the preperation of both the reasoning and subject tests?

defaintly get barrons. they really are the leading ppl in test prep. their practice test are harder than the real SATs so when you take the real ones, youll be so prepared cause youll know everything cause youve done much harder questions. its like taking what you know now in math class and going back to 3rd grade and taking a math test. the other prep books are okay but definaly not as good. theyre all either easier than the SATs (which is useless cause then you wont be prepared at all) or the smae (which isnt good enough) so i would definatly recommend barrons

I think I'm pretty well educated in the field of the SAT - here's my advice. I definitely think you need about three books to do extremely well. Obviously, you should start off by getting the official study guide for the SAT that College Board itself provides. That is an excellent book, though it may be extremely boring to read. Read it. Read it. Read it. You must read it and do every single practice test under timed conditions. Also, you will need a book by The Princeton Review called "Word Smart". This is basically a list of 1500 words that will tremendously increase your performance of the SAT. Memorize as much of those words as you can. The final book you will need: "Hack the SAT". This is a book that is extremely entertaining and written by a Harvard graduate. He provides incredibly effective techniques and "cheats" to get around the easiness of the SAT.
